One car, one road: shooting on location
Most of TROUBLE takes place in and around one car — a Mercedes-Benz 190 — on real Jamaican roads. That was a choice, not a limitation. A single vehicle and a stretch of back road force everything down to the essentials: a face, a decision, and nowhere to hide.
Shooting inside a moving car in the Jamaican heat is its own kind of endurance test. Tight quarters, hard light, and a sun that does not wait for anyone. We chased daylight the whole way, blocked scenes around where the shadows fell, and kept the crew small enough to move fast when the weather turned.
The Benz earned its place on the call sheet. It is as much a character as anyone in the cast — the thing Trouble is trusted with, the space he is trapped in, and the object the entire night bends around. Our vehicle operator kept it running and camera-ready through takes that asked a lot of a car that age.
Practical locations did the rest. Real roads, real bush, real distance between where Trouble is and where he is supposed to be. When the nearest help is a long way off, the landscape stops being scenery and starts being the problem.
